'Pratyahara' is a Sanskrit word which translates as 'sense withdrawal.' It is the fifth limb on the eight fold Raja Yoga path, and is the process of re-directing sensory awareness from the external world into ones own internal universe. When one turns their senses inward, transient external distractions fall away and the richness of the internal, immaterial being becomes illuminated.
This workshop will explore the process of turning the senses inward through the medium of postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. Postural focus is on forward bends, deep hip openers, and arm balance/inversion progressions. Breathing exercises that amplify inward focus and concentration, and meditation are also integral aspects of this offering.
