Invoking Stillness: Pranayama and Yin Yoga Workshop

Dive deep into the essence of breath. This workshop is a three hour immersion into the introspective realms of pranayama and Yin Yoga. We will traverse through a powerful pranayama (breathing exercise) sequence that assists in awakening our ability to expand the breath outwardly in every direction with inhalation, and concentrate the breath inwardly from every direction straight to the center of you with every exhalation. We will explore how the prana, life force, ayamas, expansions (life force expansions) affect our energetic state of being.
An integrative, gravity-fed, Yin yoga/restorative yoga session focused on shoulder and hip opening will follow the extended pranayama session. This workshop utilizes props. and also features passively held postures without props. The postural sequences are based on the facilitator's knowledge of pain relief based on 15 years of therapeutic bodywork experience specializing in healing injuries and a comprehensive understanding of functional anatomy.
